Brian Eno Trial
I am planning on doing a trial using parts of Brian Eno's work however it is very expensive to come across records. So i am planning at the weekend to go a buy some really cheap CD's which can be used it replacement.
With reconsideration, it will be hard to recreate his piece and is very time consuming and costly when buying Cd's, so i have decided to put his work into consideration whilst testing how to manipulate Cd's to bend and shape like i want them to.

Brian Eno
Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (born 15 May 1948), commonly known as Brian Eno or simply as Eno, is an English musician, composer, record producer, singer and visual artist, known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music.
Eno pursues multimedia ventures in parallel to his music career, including art installations, a newspaper column in The Observer and a regular column on society and innovation in Prospect magazine, and "Oblique Strategies" (written with Peter Schmidt), a deck of cards in which each card has a cryptic remark or random insight meant to resolve a dilemma. He continues to collaborate with other musicians, produce records, release his own music, and write. - Wikipedia.
I find his work very modern, up to date and also abstract. I'll find it very interesting to replicate pieces of his work and will complement my current work very well as both are up to date but also are going to be very abstract.

Susan Philipsz
Susan Philipsz (born 1965 in Glasgow) is a Scottish artist who won the 2010 Turner Prize. In her youth, she sang with her sisters in a Catholic church choir in Maryhill. She studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee from 1989–1993 and then at the University of Ulster in Belfast in 1993-4. She was a Director of Catalyst Arts in Belfast for several years. Philipsz is represented by Tanya Bonakdar Gallery in New York, Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam and Isabella Bortolozzi Galerie, Berlin. She currently lives and works in Berlin.
Originally a sculptor, she is best known for her sound installations. She records herself singing a cappella versions of songs which are replayed over a public address system in the gallery or other installation.

Her piece, "Lowlands", was three versions of the 16th-century Scottish lament Lowlands Away. It was played under three bridges over the River Clyde in Glasgow - George V Bridge, the Caledonian railway bridge, and Glasgow Bridge. "Lowlands", was subsequently exhibited at Tate Britain, winning her the 2010 Turner Prize.
Her 1998, work "Filter", consisting of versions of songs by Nirvana, Marianne Faithfull, Radiohead and The Velvet Underground, has been played at a bus station and at a Tesco supermarket. Her 1999 work "The Internationale" consists of a solo acapella version of the revolutionary song. She sings the Irish ballad "The Lass of Aughrim" in her 2000 work "The Dead". In her 2003 work "Sunset Song", she sings the male and female parts of the 19th-century American folk ballad Banks of the Ohio, with the volume level changing according to light levels. She used a vibraphone for her 2009 piece "You are not alone", commissioned for the Radcliffe Observatory in Oxford. In 2010, she was commissioned by the Glasgow International Festival.

Artist Research
BANKSY
His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world. Observers have noted that his style is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass, which maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System in the late 1970s and early 1980s and is active today. - Wikipedia.

Band Logo's

The Echelon
The Echelon is a street team for the band 30 Seconds to Mars, which helps in bringing friends to the shows, phoning local radio stations to request the band's songs, putting up posters, posting to band forums or related bulletin boards online, voting for the band in official award nominations and maintaining magazines or websites dedicated to the band. It is also the name of one of their songs in their debut album 30 Seconds to Mars. In regards to the Echelon, Jared Leto said the following:"Some people ask us if this is a cult; I say this: It's something special. It's not for everyone - it's only for those who understand."

AS Project - 30 SECONDS TO MARS
My AS project is focused around the band 30 Seconds To Mars, who have been around for many years yet have only come to light to most fan quite recently.
I have chosen to do this because i am a huge fan and would like to show my dedication to the band but also because i am planning on doing art work that is up to date and would target modern society with it's up to date technology.
The band is built up of three members - Jared Leto - lead singer, guitarist, key board; Shannon Leto - Drums, backing vocals and Tomislav Miličević aka Tomo, lead guitarist, backing vocals.
History of the band
Founded in 1998 by Jared Leto's brother Shannon Leto, 30 Seconds to Mars began as a small family project. Matt Wachter later joined the band as bassist and keyboard player. After working with a number of guitarists (as the band's first two guitarists, Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler, left the band due to issues primarily related to touring), the three auditioned Tomo Milicevic to round out the band's roster.
Jared Leto said the following in an interview regarding the name of the band: "For us, the name 30 Seconds To Mars has little to do with space, the universe or anything like that. It is a name that works on several different levels. Most importantly, it is a good representation of our sound. It's a phrase that is lyrical, suggestive, cinematic, and filled with immediacy. It has some sense of otherness to it. The concept of space is so overwhelming and all encompassing I doubt there is a song written that doesn't fall within it."
Shannon Leto said the following in an interview regarding the name of the band: "It represents a lot of things. This professor had a thesis. It was talking about where technology was going; the evolution of man and how that plays a role. A sub-category was 30 Seconds To Mars. It was like the expediential growth of humans. We are literally 30 seconds away from Mars. Everything is right here and right now; everything is just so crazy and fast."
According to an interview from Virgin Records, former member Matt Wachter said: The name 30 Seconds To Mars actually comes from a thesis that the band found online that was written by a former Harvard professor. And one of the subsections of the thesis was titled 'thirty seconds to mars' and he goes on to talk about the exponential growth of technology that relates to humans and saying that we are quite literally thirty seconds to mars. What it means to us is, we thought it best described our music, in short.
Even though Jared Leto is a Hollywood actor, he prefers not to use this position to promote the band; in fact, he refuses to play at venues if they have used his name to promote the band.
